EFT AND FINGER TAPPING
When out and about you can tap in public without anyone knowing what your up to
When out and about I usually do finger tapping.
Let's say I am wanting to tap on something that has come up, or something I am seeing or some other reason where I think tapping may help, then I usually just tap on my fingers.
Don't wait until you get home
Tap right now right where you are
Sitting in public in the middle of a shopping center going through the complete EFT process will likely get you a lot of weird looks (I've done that before), and if your out with the family or friends they will usually start to move away and head in the other direction, thus its not always good to tap like a crazy person in public.
EFT Finger Tapping
If you look at the complete EFT Process (Traditional EFT) you will discover there is an additional part that relates to tapping the points on the fingers. Whilst these additional steps do form part of the complete EFT Process, I like many other EFT Professionals find it unnecessary to include those steps into most of our EFT Sessions.
However for me I do use those points when out in public or when its more appropriate to just tap some of these points. The traditional way is to tap those points in a similar fashion to how we tap other points on the body. Whilst you can certainly tap those points in the usual manner, its completely up to you, however I use a different approach that works wonders when in public and is so simple and easy to do.
These are the locations of the tapping points (they are the same for either hand):
If you look at the meridian points above your will notice that one finger (the ring finger) has the meridian point located on the opposite side.
.
the image above is pointing to the region to be tapped - the side of the finger next to the finger nail.
.
Method One:
The ring finger above which has the meridian point located on the opposite side is not going to be used with this method, we simply skip that finger and move to the next one. So your really only going to be tapping 3 points on either hand.
This method is simple performed by bending your fingers slightly as if your going to create a fist. You will find that as you bend your fingers that they move closer towards your thumb. Now that your fingers are bent and reachable by your thumb you can now simply use your thumb and tap those points on the finger. Remember you don't have to be precise, simply tap that general region and you will be fine.
Simply use your thumb and tap each finger about half a dozen times and then move to the next, keep repeating this as long as you need to. You can swap hands or do both hands at the same time, its up to you.
You will be more or less tapping on that fleshy part of the finger; on the side of your finger just below the nail. Just tap each finger a few times and move on to the next.
Method Two:
This is also a process I actually use when I am seeing clients. In an EFT Session I would normally have you sitting opposite me, and as you are talking about an incident I might tap on the fingers of one of your hands.
I will use what I call a pincer action using my thumb and index finger (the finger next to the thumb). The great thing with this method is now I can tap all fingers on either hand, because when using the pincer approach I also end up tapping the meridian point on the ring finger.
To use this method on yourself simply open and close the thumb and finger in a pincer action tapping the meridian points of the opposite hand.
How best to describe this?.. Forgetting about EFT for a second. Use your index finger and tap the end of your thumb, simply start tapping your thumb and index finger together. This is what I call the pincer action, as your bringing your thumb and finger together as if your going to pinch someone.
All you now need to do is to place one of the fingers of the opposite hand in between your thumb and finger. Simply start tapping the finger by opening and closing your thumb and finger in the pincer action. Effectively your actually going to be tapping on both sides of the finger just below the edge of the nail. The finger is in between the thumb and index finger of the opposite hand and your simply taping both sides of the nail (in the locations as per the images above)
That's it, simply tap each finger a few times (tap about 4,5, or 6 times who cares, you don't really need to count so just tap away), once you have done this then move on to the next finger on the hand. Remember with this method you can tap all 4 fingers of the opposite hand.
Who Cares
In the end it really doesn't matter how you approach this process, as long as your tapping the meridian points in some fashion. The object here is to know that there are additional meridian points on your fingers, and you can tap these points in public without anyone really taking any notice of you.
As your tapping these points focusing on the emotions ask yourself questions about it, what is the emotion your feeling, or describe what your seeing or hearing, see if you are feeling anything in your body as maybe you feel sick in the stomach. Remember EFT is about letting go of negative emotions, thus sometimes you need to stir them up to let them go. Obviously sometimes they are already right there, the emotions are already right in your face, so you wont have to say or think anything, so just start tapping the fingers as this may be enough.
Love this.. I tried this today and it worked.
